so hurt and upset;-(

Recommended Posts

Im about 2 years post banding- lost 110 pounds- have been exercising like crazy and pretty much sticking to the rules. The past month or so I have not been able to tolerate any solid food-chicken, chopped meat, cold cuts, nothing! Living on Protein Shakes and bars. Went and had the upper gi- showed the band is at the ge junction at the left diaphram- no gastric pouch is noted and the angle is 70%- everything I have read says this is a slipped band- my surgeon says the esophagram was fine. I really think he didnt read the report and isnt listening to me. I am completely crushed, I trusted him and he just blew me off- took the fill out of my band and told me to come back in a month. Another month of me puking up everything I eat, eating nothing and feeling like crap.;-( Im getting fed up and im going to wind up having the band out permanently

Help me- What does this report mean? Should I find a new doctor??

PS- I already had my gallbladder out so its not that

throwing up is not part of the lapband, or pbing or anything else like that,

Def make another apt at ur Dr's office and be firm with them, you should be able to eat and drink and not get sick.

please call your Dr and make a apt , Is there more then 1 Dr at your office? request to see a different one, or even a nurse.

I would be calling and insisting they do something now! or find another doctor. I just found out that some surgeons are a part of the" Out of Network" for patients who are out of towners or needing new doctors. My surgeon is one of them. They said go to lapband.com and you can find the doctors that are a part of that group there.

good luck to you and hope things get better for you soon.

So are you still throwing up after getting it unfilled?

I had 1 cc removed last week and was still vomiting- attempted to eat a meatball with sauce yesterday and got through about half of one before I was in pain and throwing up:-( went today foe follow up and he took out the rest of the fill(another 1 cc), have not tried to eat but I have lost 3 pounds in the week and I had a Protein Shake a little while ago and felt like it was going to come right back up-

If the band is fine then it's fine bur I got the results of the upper gi myself- he didn't

I got screwed around almost the same way. He said he would see me in a month, and was never there when I called.

Once he deflated me, he blew me of. That sounds the same to me.

If he won't help you, find another Dr... I did, and ended up far better of.

If I were you, I would insist that he do some testing like Fluoroscope first without THE BARIUM SWALLOW, and then while watching the Band, Do the BARIUM SWALLOW.

It's your body ! You know if something is wrong. Make sure you let him know that too...

But do something... liquids for now might be softer on the stomach, then Meatball, and Sauce.

I attempted to eat some BBQ chicken last night- did not stay down- thank you for the suggestions- I can't take feeling like this anymore- I chose this dr because he seemed to actually care and be really good- he's always been great with me- I really want to take the report and hit him with it. So angry at him...:-(

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
