I have lost 35 lbs now. My problem is that I am still wearing the same size I was wearing before I lost it. I would think I would be down at least 1 size. Is anyone else having this problem or does anyone have any reasoning for this? It is really discouraging.

A very similar thread was posted yesterday here. It might be helpful to you.

Good luck

Hi TabbyAnn,

I have the exact opposite problem.. i was banded almost 4 months ago(only lost around 20 pounds) but my clothing size went from 20 to 16. I just dont get how one can move and noth the other. i totally get your frustration, i'm sorry i dont have an answer for you , but wanted you to know there are some people with the opposite problem...wish we could combine your weight loss with my size loss and we'd both be happy! LOL

Yeah I'm the same way, I've lost about 30 pounds and yeah I'm still in the same size. They are looser on the legs but the belly still fits in my jeans just fine. Idk why that is.

Yeah, I'm right there with. I can loose around 30+ lbs myself and still be the same size, but of course they are looser. I'm currently an 18 at 236 lbs and won't see that 16 until around 210. Kind of stinks, but trying not to be discouraged, only because it's been like that my entire life.

I was the same way. I started out in a snug 3X and a few 4X's. Even though the weight was falling off the sizes weren't changing as quickly. Once I dwindled down to a 24 the weight loss slowed down a little but the sizes started dropping quickly. I was constantly buying new clothes. I even completely skipped over 22 and 18. Before I knew it, I was buying 14's. I stayed that size for well over a year and am now buying 12's and a few 10's. Don't worry. The sizes will start moving. In the meantime, enjoy not having to spend money on clothes you aren't going to be wearing for long.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
