Do U use Lap band ID for Kiddie/Sr/Smaller meals

Hi friends,

I am a normally very assertive confident person in all areas of my live except about my weight.

So here is the question: as of yet I have not used my lap band ID for a kiddie, senior or smaller meal.

I normally just ask for what I need and more or less get what i want. But recently I counted 5 takeout boxes in refrig and think I need to grow a set. Can you share your experiences with me?

I just have a fear that the skinny little waiter/waitress will not be sympathetic and I will be the joke of the kitchen - I go to the same restaurants often enough that I would be recognized and It would NEVER be forgotten even years from now when I am slim and normal.

I haven't used it, but really the kid's meals are really that healthy. The seniors are smaller but not much...I am 55 so some places I get that pleasure without the card. Try ordering off the appetiser menu or sharing with someone.

The only time I use it is at Golden Corral. Not that I go to a buffet that often but when I do they charge me as a 12 year old. $5!

In my area Golden Corral do it as a Medical Discount and it is not that great, only about $2 off. The truck stop we go to do it as child's meal about $4! Other places I just order the kid meal, no questions yet. I used it when I was in Vegas and it was great. The only thing on most appitizer menus is chicken tenders that I can eat...so I get many boxes in the frig also :(

I haven't used my card... I just say "can I please order off the kids menu? I recently had surgery and can't eat much" and it's always worked. You could try that.

I didn't even realize we could request this....im still in my liquid post op faze but ill keep it in mind...ty

Same for me.... I havent used the card except at the airport after a body scan and I was asked what was in my stomach.... lovely.

I usually order salad or Soup if kids meals arent available. Or a regular dinner and ask for a to go box.... I have explained to numerous servers that I have the lap band and can only eat 4-6 ounces and no one questions it or asks for the proof of the card.

This may sound dumb but when is a lap band card issue? I never heard of this. Sorry!

Since I have an actual LAPBAND..... My Dr gave me a packet from that manufactor. I sent in the registration card and recieved the card.

I have a realize band and I've never been offered or seen a card like this in my materials. that said, i'd never use it. Kids' meals are often not the best for us, protein-wise. I usually just order an appetizer instead of a full entree.

Go to Lapband.com.....You can order the card after your surgery. You need a access number that is provided by your surgeon.

I have mine from Lap Band and was about to use it once but ended up not having to. Just ordered the kids buffet no questions asked. I love Mongos (our mongolian bbq place) and I guess when I use it there I can bring home what I do not eat. It is kinda a buffet style and they do not let people take home food. The one I am not sure of is Old County Buffet. My family likes to ge there to eat. I really like that the Lap Band offers the card. :D

I use it all the time..... A couple bucks here, and there. It adds up !

So, I show my card, and save ! ! !

I usually see no expression, or I will get really ! I have someone in the family that is thinking about it.

So, questions on this site, or in person. I answer what I can, and the people are starting to like what they see.

So show your card and save....

I have a realize band also, upon discharge from the hospital I got an ID card. I would talk to your surgeon and or the hospital where you had your surgery.

I enjoy the left overs and eat them the next day. I dont eat out that much so really there isnt that many times I have left overs. But why wouldnt you eat it if you take it home. You can put it in plastic containers the meat anyway and freeze it instead of not eating it.

Hmmm- I don't have a card either. But typically I bring left overs home.
