Last night I made steamed shrimp and steamed veggies with a black bean sauce. It tasted delicious! I had 2 shrimp and 2 snowpeas. I thought I ate slowly and chewed well but it got stuck and after about an hour I threw up. I thought I felt better but still had some pressure in my chest. I went to bed with the pressure and woke up this morning and felt fine. I then made my Protein Shake and decided to take my Vitamins, which I do every morning. Well, almost three hours later and I am still having the pressure in my chest. They are definitely stuck in there. I know I shouldn't have taken them this morning.

My last fill was 8/4 and for the last few days I have been so tight. Any one have any insight on why that could be? I've never had anything stuck this long - What is the longest you have had something stuck? Anything I can do to help it pass? Should I stay on soft foods/ liquids today?

Thanks in advance for your help!!!

Sometimes when you get something stuck and throw up your stomach will swell up and the band will be tighter. It's good to do mushies or liquids for a day after a bad stuck episode. I was stuck once for a good 3 - 4 hours. I just could not eat for a couple days after that.

Take it easy for a day, however... fluids should go down fine.

Good Luck

I have been stuck for 2 hours-it sucks so bad! Try Papaya enezmes whcih seem to dissolve Proteins like steak and shrimp (not much help with bread). Shrimp did me in a while back-chew, chew, chew and keep it moist. Dry meats tend to stay stuck longer. Something that helped me was having a cup of hot tea afterwards.

Someone said warm pineapple juice helps too.

I know it's the absolute worst feeling!!

I know it's bad, but when I get stuck, I throw it up to relieve the pain. So... when I do get stuck, it's not for long.

I have only been stuck for about 5 minutes at the longest! Fingers crossed....I have some papaya enzymes just in case.

Sometimes fills take about 3 or 4 weeks to kick in really good. Also, if you are getting ready for that time of month it will get tighter too. I have never been stuck before but I will suggest using a food processor next time. I know it looks gross but I will contribute my never being stuck to making sure my meats are very soft, moist or chopped up really good before I put it in my mouth. I made some shrimp alfredo about two weeks ago and you couldn't even see the shrimp in it but it's the flavor you want anyways. Well, some people care about texture but I don't.

I just had a nasty stuck episode last night with a piece of chicken I would swear I had chewed enough. I have been stuck once or twice before, but didn't have the pain like I did last night. I tried to make myself throw up(big mistake!), tried papaya enzymes-threw them up, tried hot tea-it finally started to break up something because as the tea came back up tiny micro pieces of chicken started coming with it

I got almost no sleep. I hate when this happens!!

If it does though-next day has to be soft mushies and liquids to give my stomach a chance to calm down. I know it is swollen and irritated inside now. I had a few bites of cream of wheat this morning and have been sipping on a non-carbonated drink. I will move up to a Protein shake later today, and probably greek yogurt tonight. I have learned in the last 8 months that while I may not have dome anything over the top to cause the "stuck" situation, how I treat meself the next 48 hours can keep it from happening for months.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
