Ok I am confused. I was banded on May 6th 2011. I had my first fill 5 weeks later and he put 4 cc's in and I could not get the Water down. He said I was to tight and took 2 cc's out. I went back 4 weeks later and he had a new machine where he could see the Fluid go down into my pouch and thru the band and he said that I was really restricted. So I talked him into 1/4 cc's. My question is if I lose more weight does the stomach go down for me to be able to have more cc's put in or no? I have a 12 CC band and I was banded 5/6/11 and as of today 8/18/11 i have lost 47lbs. I don't know if I am ahead and should slow down or keep going and losing. I don't want to end up with alot of excess skin from not doing enough weight training. Please Help!!!!!!!!

Personally, i think you are losing way to fast. 1 to 2 lbs a week is what you want to lose, as that give the body and skin the elasticity to catch up with the fat lost. How much are you eating? i lose 1 to 2 lbs per week and i eat 1 cup to 1 1/2 cups of food at each meal. i had mine done april 21st and have lost 31 lbs and i am super happy about it and so is my doctor. i have lost 3 dress sizes. i have had 4 fills thus far and my doctor feels i am in the green zone, or what he calls the sweet spot.

Don't concentrate on numbers- tell us how much you eat at a meal, WHAT you eat, and how you feel when you're done eating- and how long until you get hungry again. That's really the measure of success with a band fill, not so much the number of cc's in the band. Are you having PBing, trouble eating, anything like that?

I am eating protien shake in the morning and thats around 7:30. Then I eat lunch at 11:30 and that is usally turkey breast. I hate bread so that isn't an issue. Really that fills me up. I am very rarely hungrey between meals. Sometimes in the afternoon I get hungrey but depends on the type of day I am having. Other then that I eat dinner around 5:30 or 6 and that is usally chicken breast or pork chops, then I let that settle and then by 8:30pm I am in workout clothes and out running two miles and walking one. I have done that everynight since two weeks after surgery. I love working out now. I drink alot of Water. The weight is just melting off. Don't get me wrong I have drank some on different occasions and gain a pound or two but have it back off within days. The only sagging skin I have is my bat wings. LOL Arms. Other then that is is all getting smaller. Maybe I am at my sweet spot and didnt know it. I have only thrown up once and that was the very first time I ate after surgery and that was a scrambled egg. I cannot eat them anymore. They are to puffy. Other then that nope never got stuck or thrown up. Maybe I am worring about nothing. I just thought I would need more in my band and maybe I found my sweet spot just by having it put in. LOL

Yeah, it sounds to me like you're doing great! So when they put the band in, it goes around your stomach and includes a layer of fat. As you lose weight, you'll lose some of the fat around your stomach and your band will get looser. You'll notice that you're feeling hungry sooner after a meal and that it takes more food to satisfy you. At that point you go in for another fill. Congrats, you're doing great!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
