Recommended Posts

Hi !

My surgery is set for tomorrow. August 16th.

So far I hbe lost 8 pounds on the liquid diet. I am excited to get started on this journey.

Just hoping that double chin will be the first thing I lose.

That would be great motivation.

: )

Thanks terri.

I still have some double chin action going, but the first comments I got when I starting losing weight were that my face looked thinner. Can't wait until mine is gone for good!

Oh yea....the double chin definitely goes. Unfortunately it's replaced by a turkey waddle!

We lose weight from the top down.... which for PEAR shapes like me is unfortunate. SO the odds of you losing that chin are pretty darn good!

Good Luck!!!

My double chin is gone and I don't have the turkey waddle either. I am pear shaped too. I noticed my stomach has gone down a lot. Now I am waiting for the hips and buttocks to disappear. But I am happy with the results. 100 lbs down.

I don't know about that. I lost it in my thighs very quickly.

wow lucky you!! According to my doctor its the way it goes...but as we all have learned all doctors have a different school of thought

for me it seems to be the working that way but on others I'm sure it could be different

Hi, I'm pear shaped and please tell me after 100lbs you still have hips and butt? That's great because I dont want to loose my hips and butt, my husband would file for divorce! LOL! Running is what trims the hips and butt when you are shaped like us...looking forward to the perfect hourglass figure...goodluck!

Everybody has commented that they can see it in my face. I have lost 20 lbs and really don't see it or feel it except in the seat of myscrub pants mostly. I have been wearing scrubs since surgery because it's more comfortable with my incisions. I just put on a pair of dress pants Saturday nite and they didn't seem any bigger but the shirt I had on was looser. I think it's hard to look in the mirror and see ourselves like others do.

Funny you wrote that. Speaking for only me... Looking at both a "start date" photo and a head shot photo of me taken 45 days after surgery, I thought my hair had started to grow rapidly - Better eating, perhaps? After closer inspection, it wasn't my hair that was longer. My chin was shorter and my neck was longer!!! So, keep the hope alive!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
