I was banded on 8/11 and would like to join the challenge. My start has not been a good as I would have liked because I am not getting in nearly as much liquid as I should because of gas pain/pressure. But my challenge to myself will be 15lbs lost...............I think that a realistic goal?!?!?!

hey!! I had a setback yesterday..I was really dehydrated and didnt drink what I should. i WILL drink my Water today. i need to take in a lot of liquids. After this going up and getting my water bottle. I sent hubby to get chinese won ton ahh it did the trick. Something about real broth says yum!! So after I ws replenished in the evening I had 5oz water with a scoop of Protein and 1 teaspoon natural Peanut Butter. It gave a nice chocolate and pb flavor. I finished that and it was 9pm took my pain meds, sleeping pill and was off to lala land.

Key for me today is DRINK WATER...my goal is 45oz.

I dont know how much I could lose, didnt think to set a weight goal yet LOL I will say first month at least 10-15lbs. I will set that as my goal for 9/11.

Hope eveyone is doing well and keeping their chins up and checking in :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
