Not Losing Weight

Recommended Posts

Oh yeah, walk a mile in my stilettos, LOL.

If one more person tells me "but you don't have that much more weight to lose" I will consider decking them. :) It's still too much weight when you're the one trying to lose it.

At the rate I'm losing at - it will probably take me at least 12-18 months to lose this next weight and that's just my surgeon's goal for me, not my "Want to look DANG good" goal...

It's not that I think it's never going to come off but losing (at my current rate of weight loss) 12# a year is simply inhumane. Since I've realized that my body is Fat-Preserving Machine, I am starting to examine what other options there are for people like me who aren't getting it done, much less getting it done in a reasonable amount of time. Extreme measures might be next.

(*sigh*)

Jacqui---AMEN!!!

Newsho--I understand. Even back in my Weight Watchers days, when I got so close, I still felt like a buffalo with that last 20 lbs to go. I don't doubt you apprecaite how far you have come, but that never relieves how far you still feel you have to go. I sure hope you make it there. Good luck.

Thank you all for your support. I had computer issues and could not get on line. I have a 10 cc band and it is really nice to know that I am not alone in this slow to start club : ) I would do it all again tomorrow, because I do feel better. I can almost fit into regular size 22 jeans (not the spandex added ones). I am going to start working out. I have always hated that part of getting healthier, but without it I will not get smaller and healthier.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
