Sub Sandwiches

Recommended Posts

For some reason today, I just can't get full. I have been avoiding eating bread for the most part due to carbs and the fact that I thought it would be hard to get down. Well, today got the best of me and I had to have something from Subway.

I got a 6 inch flatbread roasted chicken and only ate 1/2 of it about 11 AM. I am getting hungry now and really want the other half now. I am still way below my calorie intake for today.

I feel so guilty for eating this! I don't think I should be hungry this soon after lunch. Maybe I need a fill!

People look at this differently. I personally, eat what ever I want. I try do make health choices, but sometimes you just "need" a sub. I don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I am a calorie counter, and as long as I'm in my 1200 range, I consider it ok.

Good Luck!

What is wrong with what you ate? I don't eat a lot of bread, but sometimes I really want a sandwich....and you know what I do. I buy/make one and eat it! I just make sure I log the nutritional info for it. I can't eat a foot long sub like I could back in the day, but I sure will eat a 6 inch.

Just because you have the band does not mean you won't have a day where you are just super hungry. I have days like that sometimes. I even talked to my dr.'s office about it. They told me it's normal and to just eat if I am really hungry...not head hungry. I mean stomach about to eat itself hungry! I just have to make sure I go for a healthy snack, but I will have the snack and not feel bad at all.

I second what TKW says. I too am a calorie counter. As long as I stay in my 1200 range I consider it okay too. So, if I want a cookie or chips it is okay as long as I calculate it in. To me this makes it not a diet but a true lifestyle change. I think I would fail if I never let myself have my favorites again. I am learning moderation.

3 inches for brunch and then another 3 inches? I don't see the problem either! The band doesn't promise you'll nevr feel hungry-although it does help! I find when it's really hot out I get hungry for some reason. Are you stressed about anything?

I eat Subway every blue moon. I don't have problem with eating bread but I do get them to dig out the center and toast my wheat bread. It's so good! Subway is the one food I really miss since being banded. I have had Subway 3 times since being banded.

I too have days like that where I feel like I am always hungry. I just try to be more conscience about the choices.

NJGirl32- I am actually just the opposite when it is hot out or stressed out. The band clampes up and is hard to get Water down.

I have been really stressed this week and I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. I have always been a "stress" eater, but lately I have had a better handle on that. Even though I am more concious of it there will always be those "bad" days. I am not going to consider it cheating as long as I stay within my calorie range, which I have been doing. I think I just freak out and think, "I am the only one with a band trying to choke down a freakin sub sandwich?!?" I talk to so many people who are anti-bread and it had me worried!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
