Caloric Intake

Recommended Posts

I haven't really figured this out yet, but how many calories should we be intaking as banders? I know it depends on weight and various factors but anyone have a rough idea? I'm going for my 2 week post-op check-up on Thursday so I can ask then but I was just curious. I don't want to overeat and I want to make sure I get the Proteins in so I'm trying to build a program for me in hopes of making it easier. Thank you.

My doctor told me between 1000-1200, but it really differs from person to person I think.

I try to get around 1200 but my nutritionist won't talk about calories, only Protein, Water, and portion size.

The information I got before I had the surgery lists serving suggestions for 1000, 1200, and 1500-calorie diets, but no hard numbers on the amount of Protein, carbohydrates, fats, etc for those plans. I'd love to get some hard numbers!

calories in versus calories out that is how to figure it out if you are inactive then fewer calories in cause there are fewer calories going out

I get a bit confused about that. My Nut talks portions too and it seems that it should work on it's own be because of amount limitations, assuming you are making wise choices. I'd rather try portions than track calories. Do you track calories at all or just go for a ballpark estimate?

I just posted this question. Lol. I try to aim for 1200, but sometimes i get around 1300. Is that too much? I was losing weight really good, but at a stall the last few days. But u would think at 240 lbs, only taking in 1200 calories would keep me losing. That is why i wanted to ask... Wasnt sure what i should aim for

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
