Difficulty finding TIME to eat!!

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 05/31/11 and have lost 30lbs so far (without a fill) but now that I am back to work (I took a month off after surgery), my schedule is super busy and I find it hard to find time to eat! I wake up around 630am to get myself and my son ready for school/work..after that it's non-stop busy-ness..lol.

Can anyone recommend some ON-THE-GO foods or Snacks that are healthy AND quick (low carb/low sugar/protien). When I do eat, I rarely get hungry in between but I need something that I can eat while I am on the run!

You can find them at costco and I THINK Sam's Club.

Protein Shakes, and bars.

Also stop in a nutrition store, tell them how busy are, and ask if they have Protein Snacks in a bag or box like a cookie or treat.

A couple of pieces might hold you over.

I really try to avoid eating on the run. That's a good way to get stuck. If I really feel I need something I try to stick with something liquid, Protein Shakes or just a cup of coffee or iced tea and hope the urge goes away. It usually does.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
