My biggest advice to you is to eat a big heavy meal before your appointment. It's a couple extra pounds that it'll look like you lost when you go back in laugh.gif

I went in to my consult with Theo pieces of paper full of questions. I also printed off my insurance policy stating that it does cover weight loss surgery... But the office didn't need that. I like the bug meal idea! I should have done that. Instead I went hungry so every appointment after that I had to go without eating Breakfast because i wanted to make sure I didn't gain any! Haha

Check your BCBS medical policy (depends on what state policy issued in) and see if medically supervised diets are required for approval. Bring any diet history with you (including notes from your chart regarding your medically supervised diet programs). I decided I wanted to use the surgeon I had the consult with before I even went in there, so I brought copies of my results from a recent endoscopy, etc., with me to the consult. I was FAST-TRACKED. First consult May 17, surgery July 5.

Do they put you on a diet while waiting for approval? So odd but isnt that why we want the lap band to help keep us on track and help us from over eating....How often do you need to go to the doctors office for weight ins..Weight Watchers has stopped working for me, will they put me on a liquid diet from the start? Very confused

Depends on what your BMI is regarding whether you are placed on liquid diet before surgery. I did not have to do the two week liquid diet because I lost a fair amount of weight prior to surgery (tomorrow!).

Get all your records from Weight Watchers. Also, if you saw your doctor for obesity during your weight watchers efforts, get a copy of those medical notes. My BCBS PPO plan required either a six consecutive month diet or two 3-month (consecutive) diets conducted under medical supervision).

What state is your BCBS plan issued in? Not necessarily the state in which you live.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
