I'm 3 days out of surgery and just curious when you were all able to sleep on your stomach? That's my favorite position to sleep in and I'm so sick of my back and side.

About 2 weeks post-op I was able to start sleeping on my stomach again comfortably. For the first week I couldn't even handle sleeping on my side and wound up sleeping on the couch for the first week propped up. I'm a little over 3 weeks post op now and no problems at all :-)

It will start feeling better before you know it and this discomfort will only be a memory. Good Luck to you!

I am 13 months out and still can't sleep on my stomach. My port sticks out too much.

I'm a week out, and I can pretty much sleep on my stomach now. Maybe not all night, but for a while.

I'm 3 weeks out and I have no problem sleeping on my stomach. I did have to sleep on my side for the first week but it gradually got better.

I was banded on 6/24, making me 6 days post op & I can sleep on my stomach. I do feel a bit of pressure, but it doesn't bother me. I guess it depends on the person & your pain tolerance/healing abilities. Best of luck to you! I'm a tummy sleeper as well!

I am almost 2 weeks out and can not even put any pressure on my stomach. It is bruised at where I believe my port is located. I also can not wait to sleep on my stomach!

I feel your pain. That is my favorite position to sleep in too. I would start out laying on my back and wake up on my stomach. I would throw up alot of times for some reason... So I would put really fluffy pillows underneath me so if I did turn over i would have some cushion. That seemed to help me alot. Try laying on your side with a pillow, that will help the discomfort. The good news is that after about a month, you will be normal again. Good luck on your Weight loss journey!

I'm six days out myself and I still can't sleep on my tummy. I also have trouble sleeping on my right side because it pulls my big stich a bit too much and it hurts. I've beeen sleeping in a recliner for the past six days but I have pillows and a heating pad underneath to ease pain that I might feel from that center stitch. I'm a tummy sleeper too and it's annoying that I'm on my back.

At least a week...I'm pretty sure I was able to lay on my stomach after a week and a half. It does make life much, much easier!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
