I know that you shouldn't eat it after surgery but I want to know if it can be eaten? I'm talking New York Style crust type pizza, I understand that thick doughy stuff is out but I'm just curious if anyone has had luck or trouble? Thanks.

When I get the urge for pizza (which is rare these days) I order thin crust. Never have a problem with it. Wound never even consider thick crust. Chicago style was always my favorite! Those days are over!

I tried and it was awful. It was new york style thin crust and I thought I chewed it well. A piece got stuck. I had that sliming going on in my mouth and the pain was unbelievable. I ended up tossing it up but it took awhile before it would come back up. Hope you have better luck.

I have no problem with thin crust pizza if I take my time and chew. Just be really careful about portion size. A New York Style slice (those big handful slices) is going to have an incredible amount of calories, so no way would I eat a whole piece even if I could get it down.

A large Hungry Howie's thin crust pepperoni pizza has 146 calories per slice. (124 if you skip the pepperoni).

I live in NY, so all I got is Ny pizza, well besides like pizza hut or something like that. I may have a slice every couple of weeks or so. I have no problem with it. But I have little fill. A woman in my office is banded and she says it gives her trouble. So I think it depends. I don't know where her fill level is at though

We have continued our Friday pizza tradition despite my band and I have no trouble at all. The only things to get stuck on me so far are pork chops.

As you continue to get fills you'll find many foods you once enjoyed - can't be enjoyed. They may be able to be eaten, but not always without consequence. Though I can eat pizza, I don't because while a tiny bite might be fine, it builds up.

And some days you'll have no issue with a food, then the next you can barely eat anything.

Every one is different and every fill will change what you can and can't eat.

I also loveeeeee pizza... but I seen a few recipes for pizza on here one that I tried that, you make you "base" out of ground chicken... yes!

I tried it unseasoned ground chicken.< /p>

4oz ground Chicken or Turkey...

Small non stick pan

Spray a lil EVOO on the pan

fill in the no stick pan with the ground Chicken/Turkey

slow cook (spinning so it wont stick)

Flip

add pizza sauce

a lil of your fav cheese

your fav toppings

(I sauté my veggies before so they can be softer)

then add a lil more cheese

Cover pan to let cheese melt

enjoy

I "CAN" and have eaten regular hand-tossed style pizza but it can be uncomfortable which takes the enjoyment out of it. I have no problem with thin/crispy type crust. Most times we buy whole wheat tortillas or flat bread and make our own using healthier ingredients; we prefer our own homemade pizza anyway. Before adding the toppings, I lightly spray both sides of the tortilla or flat bread with olive oil and it crisps up nicely rather than getting soggy, making it easy for me to digest.

I am not banded yet but I believe pizza will be on my no no list I looove pizza and I live in NYC. My problem with it is that it's a disposable food for me what I mean is I can inhale a slice in under minute just huge bite chew chew swallow it's a trigger food I will do better without it.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
