For the past few weeks I have been having "stuck" feelings with food and drink. Some hours are good and some are complete misery and it had gradually gotten worse by the day. I have been to my Dr twice for unfills and still cant get anything down. I just got back from having an upper gi and was told I'm having esophagus spasms thats preventing everything from going down. My surgeon has scheduled an appt this afternoon to remove all of my Fluid in my band. :(

I'm completely miserable and sick of vomiting!! Not to mention starving and dying of thirst. Besides Soup broth, I had half a Protein drink and 5 oz Water all day yesterday. Nothing at all today except the barium they made me drink for the test! I've been vomiting barium for the past hour.

Has anyone else experienced this or know what causes it? It had been 7 weeks since my last fill when this started. I did have almost 7cc and was fine...then bam! I'm so confused.

I had a problem last summer, it was March when I had my fill and between June and August I had a slip and had to have my port emptied. It took a month but then I was better. Take care, and hope that you will have the success after one month like I did. Karen

I just had the same thing happen to me and had 3.5cc of 5.5cc taken out of my band. I had severe acid reflux and when I did the barium swallow I could see the reflux coming back up. Since he did the unfill, I feel great! I'm very worried about gaining weight over the next couple of weeks but I'm determined to watch what I eat and exercise. My goal is to lose a few pounds before I go back to the doctor.

Good luck to you!

update: When I went to get unfilled last Thursday they admitted me to the hospital for dehydration. On Friday I was scoped and was told that my band, pouch and stomach looked fine but that my esophagus was irritated. They let me go home Friday night and told me to eat soft foods. My Dr was out of town so I was seeing his partmer whom I've never seen before. He told me the next step was to go into surgery to look around for a problem if I did not improve.

Well, since being home I have been on 99% liquids and am still having trouble getting them down. I tried some mashed potatoes last night and ended up vomiting. I have an appt today at 2 to see my Dr. I'm scared and worried. I havent "eaten" in well over a week and I look terrible! I never thought I'd say this but I do not want to lose anymore and I'm worried about my nutrition. Bought a sz 4 shorts just to have something to wear to my appt.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
