Drink lots and lots and lots of Water. Whenever you feel hungry drink Water. Keep ice water with you at all times. My big time to eat was in the car I have found that it's easier to get through my cravings as long as I have something around to drink. Keep yourself distracted. I have found myself watching less and less tv over the last two weeks be cause I get bored when I get bored I want to eat. Go for a walk read a book do anything but open the fridge. Also put yourself on a schedule for your shakes. I have my shakes at 8:30 11:00 3:30 and 7:00. this is what works for my schedule. If you know you are not going to be home when one of your shakes is due grab the stuff to make it on the go. I have found that the travel containers for baby formula work very well for Protein powder and that there is nothing on earth that can beat a Blender Bottle for on the go shakes. I have done very very well using this I am on day 11 and I haven't cheated. Have I been tempted? YES Have I wanted to cheat? YES but I know that if I cannot follow this diet now I will not be able to follow the rest of the changes that have to come after the band. You can do this it's mind over matter at this point. You can! You can! You can!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
