First Fill....No Restriction Felt

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I went last Friday the 13th for my first fill. They told me I have the larger band which holds 9cc. They put 4cc in and I still don't feel any restriction. My next appointment is February 16th. Should I call my doc and ask to come sooner? I'm not loosing and am getting so depressed.

I went in for my first fill on Monday and they also did 4CC's I too have no restriction. I don't think you should worry though it sometimes takes a few fills to get it right for your body. I have no patience so it makes it hard for me to sit back and wait. I have another fill in a week. Hopefully that does the trick.

Good Luck!

I had my first fill yesterday and it has made a difference not in restriction or not being able to eat anything in particular but it's just completely cut the hunger and interest in food again.

I would be happy to wait till 16 Feb though, you dont want to suddenly end up overfilled.

Thanks,

I just wish I was full like after surgery after 1/2 lean cuisine.

I think I will wait, I am going to join weight watchers tomorrow hopefully that will help.

My doc won't give me a fill... hopefully when he see's I haven't lost since december he will. Hang in there some times the fills kick in later on. I'm scheduled to see my doc feb 3rd and I'm really really frustrated b/c I have 0 restriction.... good things to those who wait uuuuh lolol.

I called and got an earlier appointment after my first "no help at all restriction-wise" fill. He did the 2nd fill 2 weeks after the 1st fill and then another a week later. I still don't have alot of restriction, but I "have" to wait a month after the 3rd fill. See him again next week and I'm hoping the fourth one is the charm.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
