What's your energy level like?

So I've been wondering if after I get Lap Band, will I be weak and shaky from eating so little? I'm use to eating quite a bit and whenever I skip meals or eat very little I get jittery and feel so lethargic. Has this happened to anyone after getting your lap band? Will my body just adjust to less food after awhile? Also, I plan to hit the gym and it just seems like I may not have very much energy...not that I have a lot now...Just wondering what I should expect!

I was just banded two weeks ago, and I haven't had too many problems with lack of energy after surgery. Though I will say that I had a major energy crash while I was on the pre-op diet. Come to find out, my blood pressure had dropped too low, and my doctor told me to take half a bp pill per day instead of a whole one. So depending on whether you have any pre-existing health issues, you may need to watch for things like that. Otherwise, just be sure to take a good Multivitamin and get enough Protein.

I am almost 2 weeks post op. My energy level is better than it was before the surgery. I started going out window shopping at 5 days post op. I did get weak in the store and feel like I was going to pass out. But, i had been out for about 2 hours. The next day I went out again for about 4 hours. I felt better, but was tired when I was done. On the third day out I almost felt like myself again. All of that was on the liquid diet (300-600 calories/day). I was making sure I was getting in my protien shakes (90g protien) everyday. Now that I am on mushies, I still get most of my nutrition from the shakes.< /p>

I did Zumba for the first time last night. I had plenty of energy to keep up with it.

Good luck to you. You can do it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
