I've never really had port pain, I have had situations where I have bent down in the shower or something and became of my port. But it has never been painful. I'm thinking you may have bent down too far or maybe too fast.. take your time you are still healing. Good Luck!

Does it still hurt? You may have popped a port stitch. TYhis happened to me a couple weeks back when I bent over int he shower. I happened to have a fill appt the next day and my surgeon took a look (or feel)...agreed it was probably one of 4 stitches that holds the port down. He made sure it was still laying flat and said not to worry about it. Scar tissue takes over the job of these stitches soon enough. So, you may have just pulled a stitch or it may have popped free. You might want to call your surgeon and just run it by them. Does the port still feel ok, like it's still laying flat? (my pain lasted almost 24 hours)

I get it some times as my band & port are high. My underwire bra sometimes hits my port. Hate wearing underwire bras now evenmore!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
