Hmmm 30 something men Uh?!?! I think I may stick around this thread a little longer ;)

When I went for my support group meetings there were a couple of men also the other patient that my surgeon operated on that day was a male so it was me and him in recovery. I'm just thinking guys don't necessarily post about it on here as much. Good luck to all of you guys!!

My husband will be banded in August, he is 45. You are not alone, my husband is just not a big fan of message boards.

I am getting banded the same day you are man. Good luck to you. I am oon my 4th day of pre-op diet and doing well.

Just wondering if I am about the only guy getting banded? Or perhaps one of the only ones online and talking about it?

So glad to be meeting all the awesome ladies on here who are going through what I am, but wondering if I am the only 30ish guy getting this done?

There seems to be more of a stigma (where I live at least) for guys getting Bariatric Surgery.. what about where you live?

I just started the process. Probably looking at Oct - Nov.

I think it's great that this site exists. To me, the real opinions of people going through this process is tremendously helpfull.

Hang in there and good luck. I hope it goes well for you.

I am a 28 year old male overweight most of my years. I have decided Lap Band was the only choice for me at this point. I have tried dieting and exercise too many times. I need a permanent solution. My cousin who is a male also had the Lap Band done a few years ago he loves it. I have had my consult with the surgeon who will perform the surgery. I have also had all of my pre op testing done. Just dealing with the insurance company now. They wanted more documentation of the 6 month diet that was required. I hope what I am sending them this week will satisfy them. I am very excited to start my journey and live the rest of my life as a healthy person. Good luck to all the guys and gals out there who are working on the process as I am . To all the banded on here, I hope you continue towards your weight loss goals and meet them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
