Wake up with no band!!!!

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow I am having surgery; hoping they can fix my problem of "Being TOO TIGHT"! With no Fluid in my band! I haven't eaten in 2 1/2 weeks.. and anything I put in my mouth either comes back up or hurts like hell going down!

I need to be at the hospital for 6 am! I will be up at 4am to be out of the house by 5:15! I most likely will not sleep tonight!

I went to the park today with my hubby and kids and walked around the track (walked a mile today)... While I was walking, I keep thinking.... "What am I going to do if I wake up and they took my band out"!!!!!!!!!?????????

I am scared that I will just end up gaining all the weight back! I know I have my mind set to keep going and keep losing! But in the back of my mind I am scared as hell! Like I wake up and there it is.. I am back at 270 and this was all a dream! I never lost 85 lbs!

I am scared for tomorrow! I am not sure what to expect!

Needed to vent! Thanks for listening!

Well can you afford to live without eating. Is the band that important that you would rather maybe not live and leave your husband and children then be able to be healthy.

Did you talk to your dr about IF the band had to go could he do the sleeve? I know a lady who lost her band due to a car accident and she told him to do the sleeve if it couldnt be repaired or put back in. it did turn out she had the sleeve and is still losing.....

good luck, i know i would feel the same as you. I LOVE my band but u need to eat to live.....

in my prayers !!

Amy ;)

Just wondering how it went. Sorry some replies wer eharsh...I know you're not leaniogn towards dying over keeping the band (duh...sorry people but really)...I'd be scared too, of undoing all the hard work so far. I was also going to suggest the sleeve or even bypass if you do los eyour band. Many hugs...let us know how it went?

First of all, WOW! Congrats on all the weight you've lost!! I totally understand your concern, but as successful as you've been, I think a lot of your achievement has come from you and not your band...yeah, it would suck to lose it, but I think you'd be able to keep on going. It must be awful not being able to keep anything down. Stay positive, and I wish you well!

I hope it goes well for you. I know the feeling of a failing band very well.

If they take it ! You will still have to keep track of your calories.

I gained it back, Trust me,, You don't even want to go there.

They might give you a band further down the rd.. Depends on you DR..

Good Health to you, Shirley.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
