I don't understand. Had surgery on 3/7, lost 12 pounds before surgery, about 12 more in 2 weeks after surgery, but scale hasn't moved since. Really frustrating since I have been exercising like crazy for the past two weeks. What's going on???

How many calories are you eating? Are you eating primarily lean Protein and veggies?

I journal my food intake almost obsessively. If you just do it for a week (if you aren't already), you may get an idea of what nutrients you are either missing or perhaps having too much of. I also started talking Vitamins which helped boost my loss.

I know it is frustrating. Stick with it though... it WILL pay off.

Eat more. Less calories =/= weightloss, especially when you're exercising a lot.

Sounds like your Protein intake is fine. Are you doing at least 64 ounces of plain Water a day? Eating more claories won't cause weight loss, as long as yoru protein is what you say it is your body should drop fat (instead of muscle) but you may also be adding muscle mass with the exercise. My surgeon's general rule of thumb is that if you go two weeks without losing, it's time for a FILL.

Have you checked to see if you are losing inches? Muscle weighs more than fat. And for women especially you might be retaining Water.< /p>

Your body is still healing, if you were banded on march 7th. Even if you feel all healed up, chances are your body is still healing. It's also going through the shock of a lot of changes. Has you Dr scheduled you for a fill yet? From what I've read, teh average for a first fill is 6 weeks after surgery. You need to make sure you aren't getting dehydrated, andd since everybody is different, you're going to have to find what works for you, food wise, and excersize wise. YOu need to make sure you're onsuming enough calories though to counter balance teh calories you are burning.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
