Stretch marks and Extra skin

Recommended Posts

Stretch marks and excess skin are usually there to stay. You can try building up muscle underneath the skin to re-fill some of it out otherwise surgery or dealing with it are the only options.

stretch marks will not completly go away. You however can lighten and fade them quite a bit if you continue applying cream consistantly. I had success with Excel Skin Care's cream. Don't become anxious and stop, your marks will stay the same. Excel has a store on Amazon and that's where I get the low prices. I continue to use their anti aging serums.

I believe the amount of excess skin depends on several factors, genetics, weight gain and loss over your life, pregnancies and natural elactisity of your skin. I have had 2 surgeries (tummy/boobs and face) with one to go (arms). It's not for everyone, luckily clothes hide a lot.

If the stretch marks are caused by the pregnancy, it should fade away by itself eventually. But id it is caused by weight loss, some cases require laser treatment or something like that. If those are just minor stretch marks, skin lightening creams can be used (the one without hydroquinone please). You can also try natural products like lemon juice, etc. But if it's on the part of your body that is unlikely to be seen, don't bother removing it anymore. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
