I was banded on 3/16/11 in Lex KY. Glad to have the surgery behind me!

How are the other March 2011 bandsters doing?

I was banded on 3-16-11 as well & I have to say that yesterday & today have been my best days. I also had hiatal hernia repair & I think that recovery has been way worse than the lapband recovery! Good luck to you!

OMGEEEEEeeeeee! I totally have to agree The Hernia repair has been brutal for me. I called My dr office yesterday, when I take a deep breath I have a lot of pain and the said my hernia was pretty large and it was right behind my lungs, so it would take a while for it to heal.

Today was my 1st day back to work and I took it very easy!

Good luck to you as well! So weird to be on "other side" seems like I jumped through Ins hoops forever to get to this point!

Same for me - yesterday was my 1st day back & I took it easy as well. :) It's been such a long journey for me to actually get to the surgery (like you said, "all the hoops") it's a little crazy to think that the band is actually in me! But of course I just have to breath & I get a little reminder of that hernia repair! haha :)

Banded on 3/4 here. 3 weeks ago today...it's hard to believe. Now just to get to the restricted green zone and happily start losing weight. Good luck to everyone!! :)

I was banded on March 9th and also had hiatal hernia repair. My recovery was great, first 2 days a bit slow but after that was great. I was back to work in a week and had no pain, I can't believe it. I am having a hard time now with eating, just nervous and afraid I will do something wrong. I can have pureed foods (mushy) and am afraid I will over eat. I feel like I am playing the mental game. Anyone else feel that way?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
