10 days post op and still in pain

Recommended Posts

Hello, I was banded 03/07/11 and I am still really swollen and in pain. Everyone I know with the band weren't swollen at all like me and was pain free by 2nd wk. It frustrates me cause I.m trying to get back to work, but my port site and my right side is swollen and I.m worried about it. Just to say my port is in the middle of my belly. Is there anyone that was still swollen and feel pain in there 2nd wk. Is this normal?

My port area hurt for three months that is normal. If its hot, red, swollen and you have a fever and you have any drainage coming from your incision site that is sign of infection if not then that might be normal for you. Everyone is different and every ones healing time is different

Hi, Im 2 week today and i am still a bit swollen...i have noticed that in the last 2 day my belly has gone down a lot. My pain is on my left side and that is where my port is. My incision is not healed and last week the doctor gave me some antibiotic ointment to put on it and to cover it up. Today i have been having like a stinging pain where i port is...and if i rub the area it hurts a bit...the dr. told me it was just healing and that that area will be tender for a while...i call or e-mail my dr. for every little question i have and he gets right back to me...so all of my concerns are answered...Good Luck and feel better soon...oh one more think....walking has helped a lot with the swelling and pain. :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
