Mjv013 67 Posted March 10, 2011 I was banded 10/15/10 so almost 5 months ago. Not only am I 65 lbs down but I am no longer insulin resistant and am off medication for it and high blood pressure!!! I have been insulin resistant for about 10 years and never thought it would just go away! My monthly cycle is normal now and I am completely healthy!!! This was my major goal getting banded. I have such high hopes for this procedure and my first year goal isn't necessarily to lose all that I want, which is about another 80 pounds but if I could maintain losing an average of 1 pound a week and lose a little over 50 pounds in the first year...I would be elated.
