ONEDERLAND????

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am a fairly new bandster and it is taking me a while to catch on to all of the lingo. But I can't figure out "Onederland" I see it alot on this site, but...???

Then there is "sweetspot" I think I got that one figured out, but how do you know when your there. My surgeon told me I would feel like I felt the first week after surgery, no appetite or desire to eat. I am not there yet. Is that how the sweet spot feels?

Hi Devin, I'm a new bandster too. Banded on 2/17/11. Onederland is when your weight is in the 100's. I'm not sure what the sweetspot is? :) Please do tell. lol Hope all is well!

I am told that the sweetspot is when your band is filled to the perfect spot for you. Only thing is i don't know how to know when I am there.

Banded on Feb 17th. WOW...you are brand new. Hows it going? I was banded on Nov 9th 2010, and I remember how painful those first two weeks were. Especially at the port site. I am 4 months in now and although its been a struggle to learn how to manage my band and eat properly with it, it is still the best decision I ever made. Started at 304 pounds, scale said 240 this morning :D . I wish you the best as you start this wonderful new life as a bandster!!!

Onederland is when you're under 200lbs; ie 199. 1 instead of 2 :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
