Any good doctors in Macon, Ga???

Recommended Posts

There are no lap band doctors in Macon. I go to Dr. Bagnato in Albany, which is about 2 hrs south of Macon. There are also a couple in Atlanta, but it is so not worth the traffic driving up there.

No, not EMS, those are my daugther's initials. But I have had several EMT's in my family!

I love Dr. Bagnato. His staff is great and so helpful. He is a Center of Excellence. I don't know how much they charge for fills/visits because that is included in the surgery fee and my insurance paid that. His office sees the surgery patients before and after surgery, but then his Bariatric Institute handles the fills and nutrition type things. They are in separate buildings but right there next to each other.

He is having some issues with the hospital in Albany and I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't leave. If he does, I hope he decides to come to Macon. Macon desperately needs a lap band doctor. I know one of the hospitals has been considering it for a couple of years. I just don't think they have found anyone yet.

Here is his website. http://www.palmyrasurgical.com/

Im moving to Macon, soon and need advice on a good doctor for my fills, etc.

Thank you!

There is a great one in Moultrie (I think about 30 minutes south of Macon). She has done fills for a long time and very good. I believe she does them with or wihout fluoro. You have to cal a Company called Fill Centers USA to schedule. I tell a lot of people about them because they have Doctors all over that does fills. Look them up on line and they have a 800 number and are really nice. Good luck with your move. I know people that live in Georgia that love it.

I just had surgery Feb 28 with Dr Bagnato. I feel like I am doing well, just the predictable gas pains. I had a hiatal hernia repair plus the banding. I have been very impressed with both his office staff and with him! They are very considerate and responsive! My first office visit will be this week on the 6th. One thing you should be aware of is that he puts the port at left upper breast level. I was pleased with that since I have had 2 c-sections, and three other laprascopic procedures: one for a kidney stone, one for an ovarian cyst, and one for a hysterectomy 2 years ago. I was glad of the port placement to avoid more abdominal adhesions. I am glad that I am taking 2 weeks off work to get myself adjusted before I return to business travel on March 12.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
