Just an update to let you all know, my EGD was uneventful and there are no signs of erosion, no esophageal dilitation, the esophagitis seems better and I had 3cc fill replaced, so I'm back on the road again. Thank goodness. Thanks for all your well wishes and support.

Now to nurse this sore throat... fun, fun, fun..

Leatha, I feel your pain, I've been nursing my own sore throat for about a week and hoping that I don't pass it on to MsJoy. She's 9 days post-op and I don't think she needs it. But I must say, I do miss kissing her.:cry

Yay, Leatha!! Great news all around. Take care of yourself and that throat. I'm fighting my way through a bad bronchitis and feel pretty crappy myself. You have my deepest sympathies.

Rene, I have been banded twice. I have not lost ALL my weight. Yet, I would still do it again. Never before have I been able to lose weight or maintain any weight loss as I have with the band. There may still come a day that I have to give it up, but for today. I am still very grateful to have it and to have had this great opportunity.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
