Recommended Posts

Having my Lap-Band surgery tomorrow too. I am in a OH S*#t stage. What have I done? What was I thinking. I am excited about a new begiinning but it's a little scary to think I am changing my whole life. Good luck to you tomorrow. May God bless with an easy, textbook perfect procedure.

Yipee Good luck keep us posted I am 1 week away to be banded. I can't wait!

So tomorrow morning I'll be headed out to get banded! I want to thank everyone for all the great help and information along the way . I have spent my morning cleaning and making everyone else do the same because I don't want to worry about it tomorrow. I feel silly worrying about it but it is what it is I suppose.

My mom tried sending me flowers but because of some issues getting them on base I won't get them until tomorrow. But, they are here in spirit and encouraging as well :D.

So after thoroughly organizing my basement and arranging my books chronologically by author's birth date, I will finally stop procrastinating and pack my bag for the hospital. Maybe it will really sink in then, I don't know. But I am very eager to start living the life I want to instead of saying I will "one day"!

My day has come!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
