Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone!

Just wondering for all of you Mexico bandsters out there, where are you getting your fills done?

Thanks,

Marcy :)

I have made arrangements with a Dr. in Vancouver that works out of St. Paul's Hospital. What province do you live in?

I am surprised your surgeon in Mexico didn't offer possible fill doctors. My surgeon requires a post-op Dr. prior to surgery.

Best of luck to you!

To all of you considering the lap band in Mexico, be sure to find a doctor near you that is willing to do your fills and take care of you before surgery. Very often surgeons won't touch a patient who's been banded in Mexico and they return home with no one to do their fills.

Not always true Ms73, I was banded in Mexico in March and have found three in AB, I use the one in Calgary..I would not have changed a thing!

Lannae, I'm from alberta. What are the names of the 3 dr.'s in the province. I called two in Calgary, that online said they do Mexico fills, and both of their offices said they won't do fills for surgeries done there. I'm planning on having mine done in February and would like to have a fill dr. lined up first.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
