Alrighty ladies and Gents,

Here's my problem. I have not gotten a fill in months because I was feeling realy sore in my chest. I was beginning to feel better and the doctor suggested I get a fill. I was on liquids for the first day and by the end of the second i was starving!!! I ate. I know I know I shouldn't have. But get this I was able too. I even had a bit of bread. Now I am upset at myself really for having no control!! But the soreness just came back!!! what is the reason not to eat after a fill? Did I cause damage for eating?

I hope the soreness goes away... Oh I pray!!!

Anybody else eat after a fill and feel a tad sore..? Please advise..

I haven't gotten a fill in a long time, but I always did 2 days of Clear Liquids (first day was the day of the fill), 2 days full liquids, 2 days mushies, and then back to solids. The reason why is because sometimes the stomach gets irritated due to the adjustment so its good to give it a rest before putting food in it. Im sure all doctors have different post-fill protocol though.

If you're feeling sore, perhaps you should consult your doctor about it. If you've had chronic soreness for months in your chest, you should definitely consult your doc.

My doctor's post fill protocol is liquids day of fill, soft foods evening of fill, back to regular food as tolerated the next day. If anything gives trouble (stuck, soreness, etc) back down and progress a little more slowly.

Have you tried drinking some kind of warm liquid? coffee, tea, Water with lemon? warmth often loosens the band just a tad. Or tried a chewable papaya enzyme? If something is "stuck" the papaya may help it dissolve and move on down.

Hope you feel better soon.

My doctor's advice is "eat what you can eat". To go gently while discovering how the new fill changes things. Until I was to the point of getting overfilled, I could eat normally right after a fill.

I drink all liquids the day of the fill and then the next day I have mushies all day. Third day back to my regular diet but I still try to keep it light just in case. I don't think you did anything to yourself. Your stomach may be a little irritated. I have a tough tummy but yours may be sensitive to having the band on period so next time take it easy for a few days and see if that helps.

Thannks guys.

A few months ago I had a pb from a chip. From that point on I had chest pain and major irritation. I have gotten an endoscopy confirming I was heavily irritated, swollen a whole to do.. So I had to get on medicine and unfill a bit. For months I was dealing with this set back.. and pain. It was finally getting better so i decided to get a fill. I should have proceeded with more caution. But I ate. and I didn't get stuck or anything. But that pain came back and with a fury. I wanna cry myself to sleep. I wanted to do so well and it happened again. I wonder why if the food went down. I ate slow and cautiously. I know I was suppose to be on liquids but it was the night of my second day. I wish i knew what to do now? I'm afraid to keep this fill in now. Anybody experience anything like this?

happy - thinking about you - hope you are feeling better. One other thought I had was that it might be helpful to see an ENT. I had a chronic cough that was debilitating me. I did internists, allergists, pulmonologist etc. Norhing was working. I went to an ENT and he helped me straight away. A part of the problem was inflammation (due to heart burn). One thing he gave me to help heal it was steriods. Within a short time I was doing much much better. Maybe you need something to help with the inflammation itself and not just the cause of it! Best Ann

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
