I was diagnosed with FB about a year before I had my lapband surgery. I was on Lyrica and Cymbalta. Lyrica made me gain weight and Cymbalta made me so sleepy during the day. Once I had the lapband surgery and starting losing weight all my pain went away. I used to have body aches all day long, pain in my feet. I had so many nerve tests. In less than a month of the surgery I stopped taking Lyrica. I also was on high blood pressure medication. My blood pressure is now normal. Once in awhile I will take Tylenol. I am down 65 lbs. Now my aches and pain is from exercising. Good luck, hope you feel better.

Hi friends, I was diagnosed with fibro in 2000. I have good and bad times. I just was off of work for four months becasue of it. After rest, medication change and aerobics I was feeling better. After I recuperate from this I will be ready to go back to work....FINALLY. By the way, the most affordable way I found to get Water aerobics is to go to the YMCA. They have an arthritis class called joint adventures. You pay a monthyly membership and you can go to anything you want. My doctor prescribed water therapy and it would have been $55.00 per visit. He approves of the Y.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
