Any new bandsters drinking tonight??

Recommended Posts

After not touching a drink in many months, I'm planning on having a few drinks tonight. No beer, though, but I'll probably have a nice scotch on the rocks or some other type of liquor. Maybe wine if there's something decent.

Anyone else a few weeks out from being banded planning on having a drink tonight?

I am! My husband retired on the 29th and I had a few glasses of wine. I might not have a "few" tonight but I am planning on at least one!

I know we are going to get yelled at for this one! :D

I will not be drinking to be fair I do not drink ever so it's really not a sacrifice. Since I did have a piece of candy on Christmas (though preband I would have had a whole lot more than one); I don't want to be a hypocrite. I would say have one drink, considering the calories you could have a nice dessert for the calories a couple drinks will cost you. Also the more you drink your guard will be down and you will eat more than you planned on.

You Bet! The Club I manage is putting on a great New Years Party with a nice dinner & a great band! I have been losing weight steadily (down over 20lbs sice Nov 24) & I plan on celebrating tonite! I'm gonna skip the glass of sparkling wine at midnight tho cuz I don't want to push the 'no carbonation' rule, but I am gonna let loose and have some fun with getting right back on 'the wagon' tomorrow.

I'm sure we'll get some grief over this but to each their own. I feel that you have to enjoy yourself once in a while, in whatever way you choose to make the journey bearable. For me, I'll skip dessert, have an extra glass of wine, and dance my booty off tonight!! HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all and have a great time tonight in whatever way you choose do! Cheers!

You betcha! I'm a wine drinker.. and was banded on the 21... am looking forwad to it! Will not go as crazy as usual and am assuming the low calories intake will directly impact the amount of wine needed to get a buzz..Happy New Year!

Hahaha, that was funny!

Yup, my doc said one glass of non carbonated alcoholic beverage is fine per day....so one before midnight and one after :)

I might.. I'm going out, I don't like drinking much, but I might do a shot or two haha, since I don't want all the calories.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
