HELP!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

i was banded 12/1 and so far I've only lost 9lbs ( shouldn't it be more ?!?!?! ) I really have not been able to excersise other than walking because of incision pain at the port site...so I was told to take it easy by my surgeon. I've been overeating since Christmas day, a few time to the point of vomiting :(

I can't wait until my first fill 1/12/11 ....I'm finding myself getting hungry between meals and eating more often...

HEELLLPPP how can I get back on track until my fill I could really use some tips :/

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi, I was banded on 12/8 and have only lost 9lbs, so don't feel out of the norm.

I see a LOT of people on here saying DO NOT compare yourself to others. Trust me though, it's hard as hell to see people who've only been banded 2 weeks losing 15+ lbs, but you can't compare.

Watch your over eating, I'm not going to lie - I ate Cookies and fudge several times over the Christmas weekend.....I don't think that was on my NUT plan. wink.gif

Keep your head up, watch your portions. I went to the dietitian today and she said DO NOT go much over 1/4 a cup of food. I can have a snack in-between meals that is high in Protein only, and at the same portion size...but try not to go over. I'm starving, trust, but it's worth it. Some of us just don't lose as quickly as others, and hell, I'm almost 300lbs I should be losing a lot quicker but it's just not happening.

I too can start exercising next week, I purchased a treadmill that should be coming next week...can't wait to do that in the comfort of my own home. Plus it's cold out. laugh.gif

Good luck, just know you're in good company!!

At only 4 weeks post op it's very important not to vomit. You are still healing. I am struggling not to each JUNK as well, but I am at least watching the portions. Fortunately haven't vomited at all and hope to keep avoiding that. You can do this!! We are all on this forum because it is NOT easy. We have to help each other out. Most of the time, I am my own worst enemy. I like to eat, often for no reason. It's a habit and sooo hard to break. This is going to be a rough journey but do your best. That's all you can do. Don't beat yourself up and instead love yourself enough not to damage your new little pouch. 9 lbs. is great by the way! If you are like me, I would usually gain 9 lbs from Thanksgiving to Christmas, before the surgery. Don't compare yourself to other people. Compare yourself to you before the surgery. We all have moments of bad decisions but hopefully those decrease over time (who knows). But even if you choose something that isn't healthy, keep it small. You don't want to vomit and cause slippage or consistently overeat and cause your pouch to stretch.

As far as starving before having a fill.....my surgeon said continue to measure and make good choices. He acknowledged that the hunger would get worse and said to add healthy Snacks like cheese or other Proteins. His main concern was Portion Control. Also, since you are still 2 weeks away from your appointment, call your doctor and see if they can give you a fill sooner. My doctor was willing to give a first fill at 4 weeks if needed. Let them know the difficulty you are having and see what the options are. Good Luck! You CAN do this!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
