OK, I am the stubborn one.

I cannot eat 3 meals a day and cannot stop snacking.

In 60 or so days I did loose 40lbs but now I gained 6lbs since I stopped smoking.

I am on my plateau and gaining weight because I cannot stop eating... I feel no restriction at all... None whatsoever.

I went to workout once after my surgery but it made me so hungry that I am afraid to do it again...

I know what I am doing wrong yet I cannot stop myself. Am I the only one?

I did take a new picture for the first time after surgery and my face has slimmed down a lot.

I am on week 3 and haven't started to exercise yet ... I keep saying I'll get there. Friday was my last day on the liquid diet and I have 4 pounds since then which has me scratching my head. I am tracking my food eaten on the spark people website which also helps me track my Protein and carbs ... I have put in a goal of 1000 - 1200 calories per day and it calculates the goals for carbs, fat, protein, and cholesterol for me. I haven't managed to reach any of those goals yet but hope to be able to get it figured out this week ... but it is hard to do thus far because I am not able to get that much food down before feeling full. On Friday when I went for my 2 week post op visit my nutritionist said I am still swollen inside and healing.

My work out of choice is swimming. After swimming I am Starving! My mother on the other hand does not get hungry from swimming. Soooo I exercise before dinner. I measure my meals out and that's what I have no seconds. I recently had my fourth fill which may be restriction (or close to it) but time will tell.

You may want to find preplanned Snacks. When I don't have a plan and get hungry is when I'm in trouble. I like hummus and baby carrots, instant hot cider (non alcoholic) 15 cal., suger free hot chocolate about 60 cal., and hot coffee with splendra/and or suger free flavored Syrup no calories. I'm in NE and it's starting to be winter. It can really calm me down to have a hot coffee.< /p>

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
