Weight gain during period?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone - just wondering if anyone else experiences this? I think this is really the first time I've actually gained weight during my period. I generally always experience a loss before hand (which happened this time...over 3 lost pounds in the 3 days before), but I usually don't gain and this morning the scale said I was almost 2 pounds up from my lowest before my period 3 days ago. Im trying not to get stressed out but its a little upsetting...I've been doing my regular workout (cross training or 55 minutes on the elliptical and walking) and have been sticking to 950 calories or less. Any reassurance or advice is greatly appreciated!

I always gain at least 2lbs. Anywhere from 2 to 7 lbs is the norm for me. I see it go up then a day or 2 later I will be at least what I gained and a pound or two lighter. No worries. I know we are all different but its not uncommon to gain some with your period banded or not.

Lol I just saw this thread come up and I was like "Hey I have been wondering about that too!!". Then I realized it was my thread :P I forgot that I had posted it haha.

Anyways, thanks for the input. Its frustrating because I often lose 2-3 pounds in the 2-3 days prior to my period. Then I gain some of it back :-( So its like a serious high and then a massive let down. But it does seem like the consensus that people gain weight during their period. I'll see what happens during the next one....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
