I was banded on the 16th of September. Surgery went great and I couldn't be happier. I had lost 15lbs leading up to surgery and have lost a total of 60lbs so far. I have been eating well and really exercising hard. I have lost 10 pants sizes and gone from a 4X shirt to an XL. I have my first fill on wednesday and I only have one question... Why did I wait until 36 years old to do this?????? :)

If anyone out there is waiting or wondering if they should go for it, GO FOR IT!!!

My exercise is pretty simple. I do one hundred sit ups when I wake up. I do one hundred sit ups when I go to bed. I do thirty minutes of cardio (either elliptical, bike or run/walk on treadmill). I do this routine everyday. I may have to get more aggressive when I get further down in weight but it is doing the job for now and i don't want to take anything on that i won't be able to do forever. I have treated the exercise like the menu, its not a diet ,its the new normal...

First fill today so here we go!

Good luck everyone!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
