Shrina,

That's great news! Congratulations on your pregnancy. I was banded in March 2005 and still have quite a bit of weight to lose, and I too am expecting a little one. My husband and I tried for almost a year before I was banded, then decided we'd wait so I could take my band journey.

I am 13 weeks now, and for the first 10 weeks I'd say I lost about 20lbs (I didn't know I was pregnant). Now I've had my doc take some fill out of the band and I am neither gaining nor losing weight. I'm really watching what I eat and getting in plenty of exercise and Water. I have to admit that I am worried about gaining weight, even though it is normal for pregnancy, I've just been in weight loss mode for so long now that seeing the scale not moving kindof irritates me, but I know it's for a good reason.

Congrats again! Feel free to contact me if you want to compare notes!

Please tell me you weren't on birth control. I am extremely afraid of getting more fertile and becoming pregnant again (I have a 14 month old)

If you wern't trying but 'doing it alot' you'll have a girl, I'm guessing you want a boy cause you already have 2 beautiful girls!

Shirina your husband is a doll (I've met him) he has such a low back, kind, caring personality, enjoy being with child.

Last we talked, you have a snug fill, don't worry about weight gain at this point as long as you don't eat for 5 like I did. All I ever wanted to do while being preggy was eat and sleep, and that's hard with 2 kids under 5.

Congratulations and Merry Christmas!

Corinne congrats too My guess is July 11 (my birthday)!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
