1st Fill - no restriction ..

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I was banded on 9/27/10, received my first fill on Tuesday, Oct 26th, and haven't felt any restriction. I'm on mushee food now but still get hungry 3-3 1/2 hours after I eat ...

Shouldn't I feel something when I eat? They placed 3 cc in a 10cc band...

Appreciate any suggestions or words of wisdom..

thank you so much~~

Most people don't feel restriction with their very first fill...

I am at 6.8cc's and I didn't feel any real restriction if that's what you want to call it until i got to that number. Everyone is different though. I made myself stick to smaller portions and if you drink Protein Shakes and Protein Bars in between meals it will keep you from being as hungry between meals.

Im on fill 2 and no more restriction than fill 1...and that was very little. I have a 10cc band and my dr thought I would have some with the 2nd fill ..I have 6 total now but he told me most people take 3-4 fills..so my 3rd fill is Nov. 30th so I really am hoping this one does it. I do have a little restriction but can still eat a good bit. My thing is that I don't measure like I should and I have had a bad week eating things I shouldnt be!! Its tough but you will get to restriction:)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
