Hi Sha,

Just checking in to see how you are doing? I am getting along pretty well other than getting up and down from bed. That first stretch in the morning catches me off guard and I can feel my incisions pull a bit, ouch.

So excited to be eating solid liquids today, had some Fage yogurt for Breakfast with a drizzle of natural honey. Also lost the 6lbs I gained from all the IVs of Fluid pumped into me. Yesterday went to work for 2 hours just for kicks and it was fine. Today will go back 4hrs. Goal is to walk 30 min on the treadmill today or outside somewhere and get 1000 calories in.

Take care,

FBS :(

Hi FBS!

I'm doing pretty good. The gas is still driving me crazy and the shoulder pain has returned today but over all feeling pretty good. Slept much better last night however, I'm still propped on pillows on the couch. Looking forward to getting back to sleeping in the bed. Will try tonight.

I'm looking forward to mushy stage... would love some mashed potato's right now LOL. I'm having a hard time getting down the Protein shakes... With all the gas the last thing i want to do is fill myself with more liquids!

Glad to hear you are doing so well. I go back to work on Monday and I think I will be fine.

Have a great weekend and talk to ya again soon!

Hey Sha,

Have you been walking a lot? This will help get that gas out :(

Ahh mashed potatoes does sound good! And yes, the Protein stuff for me is hard too..and on the stomach- like instant pain/gas but I know I need it so what can a man do?

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi FBS!

Just wanted to check in and see how your doing.

As for me, I went back to work today and felt good. Actually felt much better after getting out and getting back to my normal routine. Finally got 3 shakes in today. Haven't been able to do that until today... Yeah!! The gas has gone down some which has made it more bearable to put more into my stomach. On day 5 and not feeling hungry yet. It's a great thing. Head hunger is still there but I'm dealing with that. Are you still on liquids? I look forward to being able to add in pudding, cottage cheese, yogurt, mashed potato's, chunky Soups etc... Have to get though a little more then a week. Def something for me to look forward to. Hope all is good and well on your end.

Take care and enjoy your week!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
