Surgery date November 10th... Anyone else?

Recommended Posts

The other day the surgeon told me that I could "cheat" on my pre-op diet. He said that I wasn't really as big as most of his patients. Also, since I have lost 20 pounds on my own since my first visit with him in July, losing any additional weight is not necessary.

Um. Thanks?

The thoughts of a spring roll and some sesame chicken haunted me for a little while. Then I had a delicious (seriously!) SF CIB and all was well. The pre-op part is easier than I had thought it would be.

This is our last weekend as non-banded peeps! How are the rest of y'all doing??

You are lucky! Even though I have dropped 30 lbs now preop, my surgeon wouldn't even let me have dinner that was part of a job interview...had to have soup!

I am so excited for Wednesday, this 3rd week of diet has been a challenge..and not to have wine like on a friday night ahhh killin me!!

I have to admit I had a small bowl of clam chowder yesterday, woke up 1 lb lighter haha. I just hope it doesn't screw up my liver. I know mine needs to be small because they are attempting a single incision procedure in stead of the usual 4-5.

Bye and good luck!

Day 5 of my starvation, er, pre-op diet and the scale says I've lost 17 lbs! If you'd have asked me 6 days ago if I would be able to stay on this "diet", I honestly didn't think so. In fact, I had asked my doc, if I felt weak, could I add a little Protein. (No!)

So now I'm thinking, what if I lose the 100 lbs by Wednesday? Do I still get the Band? LOL

By-the-way, am I the only one to notice just how many food comercials are on TV? Amazingly, few actually appeal to me right now.

Hello everyone!!

We are now only 3 days away! :smile2:

Glad to hear everyone is doing so well on their pre-op diets. Mine wasn't as strict so it explains why I've only lost a few pounds. Based on your guys success on the liquids, I'm looking forward to seeing my results after the band and being on the liquids only.

Good luck to everyone on surgery day!

tomorrows the day!! I'm excited, and kinda nervous, but kinda not. The CMAs are on tomorrow night, so thats how im keeping myself focused to get through the surgery haha. Clear liquids today consists of italian ices. and they can be regular, sugary ices. I havent had one of these in so long because even when I wasnt preparing for surgery, i never had the regular ices because I was always trying to loose weight.

still dont know what time i'm supposed to be there by tomorrow, wish I knew so i could plan around that. oh well. good luck everyone ♥ I know we'll all be great!!

Hello again everyone!

Tomorrow is the big day... how is everyone feeling?

I'm getting really nervous...excited about getting the band but nervous about the surgery. I know the nerves are normal I'm just having a lot of different feelings right now. At least mine if first thing in the morning and I don't have to sit through half a day like some of you.

Good luck to everyone and let us know how you are doing after the surgery!

I find that Im not really nervous yet, but Im sure that will come tonight :crying: Today Im just trying to go through a normal everyday routine. I took my daughter to daycare this morning, and am now trying to clean the house so that I dont have to look at it and wish it were clean later :)

I did my last test yesterday and found that I had officially lost the 15lbs that my surgeon required me to lose. Now lets just hope that the liquid diet helped my liver out.

I guess Im more worried about them getting in there and finding some reason not to band me. I wont rest assured until I wake up and they say "you're good to go April, welcome to the start of your new life". Anyone else nervous about that?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
