Almost 6 weeks Post-OP!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

I am new to this site. I am almost 6 weeks Post-OP. I have lost 29 pounds so far, although, this week I have lost nothing. I have been losing steadily and new I would eventually hit a wall. I am thinking I will have to step up the exercise, and my first fill will defiantly help, but that is not until October 19th.

My journey started in May of this year. I went to a seminar that the Doctors were having. I was really excited about it and after a few tests and a few appointments, I was scheduled for September 1st!

I am feeling great, and look forward to the new me, but I just can't help but feel like I am doing something wrong. I guess I just thought the weight would come off faster...

Hi, I will be 6 weeks tomorrow and had my first fill on Oct. 12. I too had stayed at the same weight without losing anymore for about a week before my fill. I have lost 4 lbs. just since the fill. I am sure it is partially to do with the liquid diet after my fill, LOL! Anyway, the restriction is good, not uncomfortable like I was afraid of. I am definitely eating less. It's hard to eat all my Protein in 3 set meals, so I have to throw in a couple yogurt "snacks". Altogether I am down 30lbs. I had to lose 12 before surgery. My starting weight was 252.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
