Thanks to whomever suggested SF Jello in a shake

Recommended Posts

I have to drink soy-based shakes because the whey-Protein shakes cause a sickly-sweet taste in my mouth that lasts for days. While the GNC brand chocolate whey-Protein Shakes were good, I just couldn't deal with the aftertaste.

So now I use soy based shakes. They are good but not quite as chocolatey. So I add 1 tbs SF chocolate Jello powder and the shake is more of a treat!

I just wanted to say thanks for that great tip...whomever you are!!!

That is a nice idea... I wonder how it would be to try to add some SF Jello Gelatin powder to a plain vanilla Protein shake as well. Maybe a strawberry or strawberry banana.

That gave me an idea to try this myself and I haven't yet had a Protein Shake for the day so I might try it out later.

I think they meant Jello pudding, not the Gelatin.< /p>

Yes. I was talking about the sugar free Jello pudding. I have seen recipes for Orange Creme shakes using orange Jello Gelatin too! Use your milk, vanilla Protein powder, a tablespoon or two of the Jello Gelatin powder and some vanilla extract. Sounds good to me!!!

Here is a link that another Bandster posted earlier with a lot of ideas. Some ingredients wouldn't really be for us, for we can just omit as needed.

Yes, I knew you meant the pudding. I was misunderstood there. lol. I was just saying that your idea to use pudding gave me the idea to try it with Jello Gelatin powder also.

That was two days ago, bleh it was awful. I tried SF Gelatin powder strawberry in my vanilla Protein shake and I hated it. Won't be trying that again.

I love the Early Rise Orange Walmart brand Crystal Light drink. I got the bright idea one day to mix it with a scoop of vanilla Protein Powder. LOVE IT! Just a suggestion.

I dunno if it was my post you read or not...I know I wrote one recently with my favorite PB Choc shake recipe. I love using the SF Jello pudding in mine - there are so many wonderful flavors to try! I love using the cheesecake flavored one in my choc shakes, too....keeps things interesting. I cannot stand the pre made shakes - BLECH!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
