did you not do your research?

I'm sure she did...that doesn't mean that she isn't concerned if she is feeling bad after having had the surgery!

With THAT being said...

I really hope you get to feeling better. I felt really bad for about two weeks post op and my band was put in empty. I had so much swelling even with my band being empty...I can only imagine how you must feel if you actually have something in yours.

Also, depression is really common after having such a life altering surgery/change in your life. Give yourself some time to learn how to cope with the new changes in your life and I am sure you will start to feel better.

If you ever need to talk...just look me up and I will be glad to talk to you. Also, you have to OVERLOOK the rude people on here. You will find that you will occasionally run into some people like THAT. But, don't be discouraged...we all are not like that.

I think some people forget...we are all in the same boat together here or else we wouldn't all have had to have or be looking into having this kind of surgery!

Best of luck to you and hoping for a speedy recovery for you!

Tomorrow it will be one week since I had my band on. The first two days I was terribly depressed and was regretting my decision. But each day I'm feeling better, although sometimes the hunger pains make it difficult. I've been ready a lot of the posts on this site and it has been very helpful to me both physically in the learning process and mentally because I don't have much support from my husband. My daughters keep me going. I'm wondering if my first fill will be as bad as some of the people say on here. I sure hope not.

I was scared to death when I went for my first fill. I watched videos on youtube of people getting fills...worried over whether I would be numbed or not...etc.

I had myself really worked up over it. So, I get there for my first fill...went in to see my Dr. everything was good...then he sent me to the hospital (outpatient services) and called a whole group of people back to the fluoroscopy room. The nurse called us in the room one at a time. I layed down on the table..he stuck the needle in my port (of which I had NO PAIN! ) =)

I felt a tight squeeze around my stomach and he was done! He had me take two sips of barium to make sure it went down fine and out the door I went. The whole thing took maybe two minutes! I felt so silly for being so worried about it. I just had my second fill yesterday and same thing. No problems at all and it didn't hurt any worse than getting a shot.

Good luck to you! I'm sure you will do fine.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
