I had my surgery yesterday and everthing went fine. I would love to have you as a support buddy since we are being banded around the same time. I think we are close to the same age too, I'm 52. I know you will do fine and we can keep in touch.

I was banded on Thurs 9/30. When I was wheeled into the operating room I began to feel more anxious. The anesthesiologist reassured me I was in good hands. She put something in my IV to calm me down and the next thing I remember was waking up in the recovery room. I was told that surgery began at 10:50 and I was done by 11:18am.

My suggestion to you after surgery is to walk as much as you can. This will help with the gas and your healing will be much quicker.

Good luck to you!

My surgery went extremely smooth. It only took about 40 mins. and I woke up pretty alert. Only needed pain meds once in the hospital and the percecet they sent me home with a couple times a day. The only time I was really in "pain" was when I moved around a lot. Also riding in the car bothered me. Bring a pillow to put between you and the seatbelt.

I have been very successful with the band. I lost 107 pounds in about 10 months. I love my band and with the tool, I am confident it will stay off this time. Best of luck! Let us know how it goes.

Hi, I just got banded on 9/30 two days ago. I have had minimal pain, nausia and I AM FEELING GREAT!!

I am able to drink my fluids and take my meds.

Today I actually went to the store to buy my protine & Vitamins. I wish you the best of luck on your big day.

Try not to be nervous its really not that bad. Just follow your diet and you will be fine!!

I was banded in August. I really had no pain other than the gas pains. I never even opened my Lortab and I didn't get pain meds in the hospital either.

It was honestly the best decision of my life:) My self esteem is through the roof now.

You will do fine and have awesome results:)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
