Need to pay attention!

Recommended Posts

After only losing 4 lbs. last month it quickly made me realize that if I don't pay close attention to what I am doing every single day that it is not a good thing.

I gave myself the excuse that I was busy with wedding planning but that is only an excuse. Oh, and yes, the day spent at the wedding fair tasting a bazillion different bakers wedding cake samples was definitely a bad idea.

But, to be at my goal of being 100 lbs down by my wedding in March I am going to have to lose 2 lbs. a week, every week. Which is very doable if I just pay attention.

I am glad to have this forum to be able to publicly post things and get support - I need to make sure I come here a lot more often than I did last month!

There's no such thing as a good excuse.

Congrats on recognizing and correcting the issue early. There's nothing that can't be fixed but it's best not to let it get to the point of needing fixing.

Wendy -

Just a thought for you...to monitor your progress, try tracking simple things like your weight, exercise and food intake daily. It doesn't have to be elaborate. I've attached a Word document (the forum apparently doesn't like Excel) that's just a sample of what I do. I usually on track during the week, but it keeps me mindful of my progress and what I need to correct.

I'm by no means a stellar bandster, but it does help to see the progress and see what works and what doesn't.

You can also use Fitday or some other tracking website, I don't because I want something quick and easy.

Good luck to you!!

You sound ready to get on the fast track to weight loss. Good for you. If your not already, I would start an excersise program. It has made all the difference for me. Start off slow and gradually increase the intensity and/or duration. I agree with the above advice to track what you eat. I did it for the first 4 months or so. Then it became second nature and I stopped writing it down.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
