Need Encouragement

Recommended Posts

You wouldn't know it, but I had my surgery a year and a half ago and am just now losing. My surgeon wouldn't give me any fills. He said I wasn't losing so I didn't deserve one. So for about a year it was as if I didn't have the band. No resrtiction.... no fills.... nothing.

I switched doctors and am now the tightest I have ever been. Lost 12 pounds last month and I am finding that people are saying "Finally!" and its really bringing me down. I feel like I just had the surgery all over again and that people look at me like.... your a biggin' surely you cant be full with that little food.< /p>

Any thoughts? Encouragement?B)

WOW.. sounds like you had an awful doctor. .. 12 lbs is great! I believe that taking small steps in the right direction is whats working for me right now. Just try to stay positive and keep working hard and you will continue to be successful. So what if you only really getting started now.. focus on the fact that you ARE starting! Be proud of yourself! You can do it!

12 pounds is amazing, but honestly 3 or 4 a month is amazing as well. Keep working and pushing towards your goal, now that you have a new, hopefully more respectful doctor you'll be on the track to losing. Congratulations and don't give up.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
