Sorry, everyone is different and you just need to keep getting fills until you feel you are at the sweet spot. I have a 14cc band and it's nearly filled to capacity. It can be a long frustrating road to get restriction, but it will come, don't worry.

Just hang in there and be patient.

good luck,

There really isn't any exact # anyone can give to you to let you know what your "sweet spot" is because everyone is so different. You will always need an adjustment the more weight you lose. So say you have 8.5 ccs and you find that is your sweet spot (with good restriction) then the next month you lose 10 pounds your band may need to be adjusted because your stomach shrunk. That is what is so frustrating (at least to me) is that the "sweet spot" is a flying target. You just need to pay attention to that Yellow/Green/Red zone sensations.

I know for a fact that I was at good restriction a few weeks ago and had lost about 3 or 4 pounds and now I feel that I need another fill. I thought I was at my sweet spot but that only lasted a few weeks.

Good luck, you are doing a great job!

I'm still waiting. I'm at 6.4 now and have had many fills. The first day or two I have good restriction and then not too much anymore. I'm very frustrated as I had thought this last fill(a few days ago) would do the trick but I am calling the doctor today for another apt.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
