Opti-fast.... Day one

Recommended Posts

i did the Optifast for a week. on the vanilla it will help if you put it in the blender or magic bullet with ice added and also crystal lite (any flavor but i liked the cherry limeade) single packets to taste and blend away. taste so much better!!

Well, I finished up my day one last night with the Opti-Fast Tomato Soup and 2 sugar free popcicles. The Tomato Soup didn't dissolve as well as I would like so instead of pouring the power into the hot Water, tonight I will pour the hot Water on top of the soup. This might help.

As for taste....meh. I don't normally eat tomato soup to begin with.

I can report that the shakes were all good and so is the choco bar that I eat for Breakfast.

As for hunger, didn't have any yesterday. I did have that artificial sweetener after taste in my mouth at the end of the day. Didn't care for that so much.

All in all, a good first day. Now... on to day 2. WooHoo!

I'm on day 2 of the liquid diet and it's ok so far. My hunger was ok yesterday, but I got a headache and it kicked my butt!!

So I'm on day one of this and so far I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the dense Peanut Butter bar. We'll c how the rest of the day goes. I was a heavy mtm dew drinker and this morning I had to literally stop myself and think as I reached in the fridge. I grabbed a Water. That's a BIG step for me. Somehow the little victories make me happy. 13 and 1/2 more days of opti fast. Not that I'm counting. B). Lol

Ugh. I hated Optifast. Blah! It makes me nauseated just thinking about it. Sometimes I gag when I try to make a Protein Shake. I still think about mixing the opitfast. Blaaaaaaaaaah!

Hey Va Viv and Taeboguy, I have the same surgical group as you and am scheduled for Nov. 9. I'm a little nervous about the pre-op diet, so it's good to hear about your experiences. Let's stay in touch!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
